One day in early October 2013, it was drizzling, and Hangzhou was still as warm as the Indian summer in late autumn and early winter. Several fishing friends and I drove to Longshan Reservoir to fish. We entered the fishing position at about 8 o'clock in the morning. Some caught big carp as soon as they took off the pole, and some caught several big crucian carp within an hour. I was the only one who didn't catch it. After catching fish, there was still nothing to be caught by 12 noon. I was envious and anxious when I saw other people catching fish one after another. I changed several fishing spots in succession, but the fish in the water just ignored me. What has actually happened? I struggled to find the answer. At this time, I suddenly thought that my fishing gear was similar to other people’s and there was no problem with the water area. Was there something wrong with the bait I was fishing with? I remembered that I had touched the fuel tank opening before riding a motorcycle and set off without washing my hands. It must have been because my hands were stained with gasoline and bait. So, I used soil as soap to wash my hands repeatedly, then rinsed them with clean water, and asked a fishing friend for a clean food bag to mix the bait again. As expected, when I hung up the new bait, I caught a big crucian carp in 5 minutes. By the time I got home at 3 pm, I had caught a total of 12 carp and crucian carp weighing about 400 grams. The practice of fishing proves that carelessness will lead to loss of love for fish, while carefulness will lead to a bumper harvest.

Carefully find ideal fishing spots

The selection of an ideal fishing spot should be said to be a perfect embodiment of “system engineering”. It was one day in November 2012. Several fishing friends and I went fishing in a deep-water marine treasure breeding area. November is the season for harvesting scallops. We used to choose this season to go fishing in the seafood breeding area, but we never got much. Occasionally, when I saw a farmer carrying a scallop cage into the boat, I found that the sea water behind the boat was chaotic and extended for a long distance. At that time, I thought that when the fish farmers were carrying the scallop cages into the boat, the big fish in the water would definitely come to look for food. If I fished behind the fish farmers' boat, I would definitely gain a lot. So, I borrowed a small boat and fished behind the farmer's boat, and sure enough, I caught fish one after another, several times more than usual.
